Training by Experts

Acceleware prides itself on providing training instructors who offer real world experience. Our training instructors are Senior Acceleware Programmers who have been immersed in the HPC industry for many years. When they are not in the classroom they are developing high performance technical applications for Acceleware’s commercial product lines as well as custom software development for our clients. Our instructors teach from experience and specialize in heterogeneous platforms and programming for multi-core CPUs, compute GPUs, FPGAs and Intel Xeon Phi Coprocessors. They can answer the toughest of questions! Meet some of our talented staff, who like to teach:


Acceleware Management Team - Dan Cyca

Dan Cyca - Chief Technology Officer

Regarded as a leading mind in the field of parallel processing, Dan has extensive experience working with GPUs, clusters and multi-core solutions. Dan joined Acceleware in 2004 as a software developer to build the company’s first product. Since then, he has served in many technical and leadership roles in the company. Most recently, as the Director of Engineering, Dan was responsible for managing the software development group. Prior to Acceleware, Dan’s experience included developing 'C-to-hardware' compilers, and implementing digital signal processing and encryption algorithms on FPGAs. Dan has an M. Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Calgary.

Acceleware training instructor Chris Mason

Chris Mason – Product Manager

Chris is our resident Trivia Guru and Product Manager for Acceleware’s accelerated electromagnetic product line. He is responsible for the development and launch of Acceleware products used by companies world-wide. Chris has 9 years of experience in developing commercial applications for the GPU and multi-core CPUs. His previous experience also includes parallelization of algorithms on digital signal processors (DSPs) for cellular phones and base stations. His specialty is in electromagnetic simulations, medical imaging, signal processing and linear algebra. Chris has a Masters in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.

Acceleware training instructor Scott Quiring

Scott Quiring – Team Lead Software Developer

Scott is the Team Lead for Acceleware’s seismic depth imaging libraries. He currently works on our reverse time migration products and has been developing on GPUs and multi-core CPUs since 2007. More recently Scott has been optimizing Acceleware’s seismic libraries for Intel’s Xeon Phi Coprocessor. His specialty is achieving linear scaling across nodes for large problems and calibrating the office espresso machine (hooray!). Scott has a B.Sc in Computer Engineering from the University of Calgary.
