Forward Modeling
In addition to migration software, Acceleware has also developed an accelerated seismic modeling product, AxWaveSim. Modeling is used for a variety of purposes in the seismic industry, including survey design and interpretation of seismic data. Acceleware's cluster solution optimizes seismic survey design and enables Quality Assurance of migration outputs.
The video below is a demo simulating the propagation of acoustic waves through the SEG/EAGE Salt Dome Model. The different colors represent different geological formations, in which waves will travel with different velocities. Acoustic waves can be seen (in grey) emanating out from the center of the model, being reflected and refracted at velocity discontinuities.
