Mr. Romaniuk has an Honours B.A. in Economics from the University of Alberta, an M.A. in Economics from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario and an L.L.B. from the University of Toronto. He was a senior executive with TELUS Corp. from July 1994 to July 2001, after which he directed his attention to more entrepreneurial endeavours. Mr. Romaniuk remains active in a number of business ventures, and holds positions on the Boards and Audit Committees of both publicly-listed and private companies. He has served on the Investment Committee of a national charitable foundation for the past 11 years and remains active with the International Telecommunications Society, where he has held the position of Secretariat since 2005, after 10 years on its Board of Directors. Mr. Romaniuk is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada.
Mr. Nerland has been a partner with the law firm Shea Nerland Calnan LLP since 1990 practicing primarily in the areas of tax and trust law. Mr. Nerland is a current and past director of a number of private and public companies listed on the Exchange and the Toronto Stock Exchange and is currently a trustee of a number of private investment trusts. Mr. Nerland has a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Calgary, a Master of Arts degree (Economics) from Carleton University and a Bachelor of Science degree (Economics and Mathematics) from the University of Calgary. He is a member of the Law Society of Alberta and holds the Institute of Corporate Directors' ICD.D designation.
In addition to his clinical work Dr. Neweduk has held a position in the Calgary Health Region as an executive of the Calgary Regional Medical Staff Association. He is a past executive member of the Calgary Medical Society and of Medical Mercy Canada. Dr. Neweduk is the President of Davanat Holdings Ltd. and Strathridge Apartments Inc. These private companies focus on real estate management and redevelopment. From June 2006 to December 2008, Dr. Neweduk was a director and audit committee member of Ceres Capital Corp., a TSX-V-listed company.
Jens Horstmann has 25 years of executive, technology and engineering experience in Silicon Valley and global High Tech industries. He is the founding Director and Executive Producer at Crestlight Venture Productions, a full service firm and venture fund that helps start-ups fill critical gaps and accelerate them through inflection points. He served as VP of Entertainment Technology of NCR Corp. and advises other Fortune 500 companies. Previously, he was CTO, president and CEO of DVDPlay, the creator of Redbox’s original technology. Mr. Horstmann has invested in numerous start-ups, serves on the several boards and manages MXGO, an intellectual property licensing firm. He founded B2B solution provider Ensemble Solutions in the mid ninetieth, was CEO of Open Grid, an early location based services pioneer and lectured for UC Berkeley. His prior experience includes senior engineering, research and development positions at Sun Microsystems, Siemens, LSI Logic's Systems Research Laboratory, and X1 Corporation. He lives with his family in Silicon Valley and is an avid pilot.
Geoff Clark has extensive experience in financial, technical and general management roles in several public and private technology companies, most recently with SQFive Intelligent Oilfield Solutions Ltd. a private oil and gas technology and services company. Before joining SQFive, Geoff was CFO of TSX listed Guest-Tek Interactive Entertainment Ltd. While with Guest-Tek, Geoff was instrumental in completing two major acquisitions, a share buyback, and several private placements of debt and equity. Prior to joining Guest-Tek, Geoff was CFO of Pan Terra Industries, a TSX Venture listed company. Geoff figured prominently in Pan Terra’s CBO (change of business) transaction from a junior oil and gas to environmental services organization. Prior to Pan Terra, Geoff was a co-founder of Revolve Magnetic Bearings Inc. a supplier of magnetic levitation systems. Geoff held a variety of position with Revolve including CFO and V.P. Marketing. Geoff secured several rounds of financing for Revolve and was instrumental in Revolve’s eventual sale to SKF, the Swedish bearing manufacturer. Geoff holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Western Ontario, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Calgary.
Chief Scientist from the time of Acceleware's inception and Interim President and CEO from 2008 until 2010, Michal is a renowned expert in applied computational electrodynamics, high performance computing, microelectronics and micro-machining, as well as in biomedical engineering with close to 30 years experience and over two hundreds technical publications. Dr. Okoniewski has a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Technical University, Gdansk and is a Fellow of IEEE.
